Description:
The Department of Physics at Baylor University invites applications for a tenure-track position in experimental high energy physics at the Assistant Professor rank beginning in August 2025.

Existing faculty in the Baylor experimental high energy physics group (https://physics.artsandsciences.baylor.edu/research/hep) actively participate in the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider. The group plays a significant role in the operation of the recently upgraded hadron calorimeter, the Phase 2 upgrade of the endcap calorimeter, trigger system optimization, and improving particle flow reconstruction. They are currently searching for rare Higgs decays, supersymmetry and other new phenomena, and measurements of rare standard model processes. In addition, the group is involved in future collider projects. The group vigorously pursues the use of machine learning techniques for data analysis.
